Slant Poem by gershon hepner

Slant

Rating: 3.2

She told the truth and told it slant,
I'd also like to but I can't,
because I have the urge to state
the truth unbent and arrow straight.

If I could tell it slant I would,
as Emily quite surely could,
but I'm a man and, unlike Emily,
can't quoth and quiver, slanting femmily.

In her poem, Emily makes very much like a modern-day business woman/man, but not a politician as her suggested method is too subtle for that ilk. 'Femmily' - good one, Gershon. Just don't lump all women in this 'slanting' category!
