Slaughterhouse Poem by Sharon Kelly

Slaughterhouse

Rating: 5.0

A body yoked upon itself
Assaulted mind that yields and spread
Another day I wait for you
Another night I pray for you
To in all your ways defile me
With all your words dethrone me
You parody the pleasure
The hurt invoked in a thousand ways
My mind aches to abort you
In the sea of life gone past
But you cling like a newborn child
And roar like a new god
Discovering a place of worship
Let my communion engulf you
Take my old religion
And distort its lyrical incantations
Sing me your recital discordant
Your opus of fractious divination
A blaspheme upon my childhood mantras
I'm slaughterhoused by you
This is a crawling pilgrimage to your odyssey
A bloodletting to your eulogies
My own desire is hale
Yet it castigates me
I hear your chorus of ruined angels
You are pure and you are true
You are false and you are lies
You are a church of flesh and fire
A hearth of blood and bone
I'm slaughterhoused by you.

Brilliant, well expressed poem. Your absolute darkness that engulfs me also destroys me. I love the theme. And the words you use absolutely amazing! ! ! I am a fan. 10+
