Slave And King Poem by olawale famodun

Slave And King

Am a kind of slave:
Am set free
To die
Now
To eat
To sleep
To live
And now
To rule.
I have the slave colour,
But am not gonna be slave.
A slave is king,
Many slaves have been kings
And am a kind of slave,
And am no exception
To the obligation.
I will put the crown
On my own head;
I will hold the scepter
In my own hands.
I’m a slave,
Am proud a slave,
But I am to be
Crowned the king!
Many slaves will be king,
The fingers are all equal
When you bend them
For all to touch at their very tips.
And then I will be a king
Like other slaves.
Am slave,
Slaves will always be king.
The royal family is a slave
And they will all be kings.
