Sleepless Poem by Anthony Han

Sleepless

Rating: 5.0

My doctor tells me I need to sleep on my back
But I keep turning to my stomach
To keep my heart warmer
Pressure dropping space zipping by
There is not enough energy around
To fill this void pure
Coldness within the deepest reaches
Think what you may but
Know without a doubt this
Was always God's Domain
A lot of people do not know
I am a nocturnal being
Very few of us stand
I watch the night like a knight
Vigilant in my wake
Until midnight meets dawn
I cannot help it I have tried
Its mental spiritual physical
Motivated because of the times we live in now
A mutation or a blessing I do not care
I just know when no one else
Is to care I am loving the night away
Am I heartless or thoughtless?
Sometimes I rather be without it
The words I choose direct my light
Inside of this dark space
