Sleepless Nights Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Sleepless Nights

I tremble with fear even today in my pleasant bed,
As I remember those sleepless nights of the horrible past,
Pain, anxiety, uncertainty always oppressed me with its ruthless power,
I tried desperately with my strongest jaws to get rid of this restlessness,
Though I survived after some serious struggle,
Many deep psychological wounds were created in my anxious and clumsy mind.
I knew that I had to cross the wide and perilous river to reach my dreamland,
It was always very difficult,
For that I had to construct the strongest bridge with my superior imaginations;
I waited and waited patiently with my indomitable spirit and courage,
Which loves to shine in every occasion.
Finally in that auspicious night I succeeded to build that powerful bridge with my sublime poetic feelings and emotions,
Then I crossed the dangerous and hostile river with the help of the great bridge and reached the wonderful poetic land,
It was green grass everywhere in that glorious world,
A celestial land, where beautiful spring reigned throughout the year,
I survived from the ruthless hand of sleepless nights at last,
It was a fabulous moment for me.
Now I can sleep at night peacefully and blissfully in calm and serene meadow of the poetic land,
Sweet breeze always blows to sweeten my limbs
And my mind can spontaneously sing too in this divine realm.
