time was precious pressing time was urgent
time was flecks of gold too rare too limited
there were perspective life themes I needed to write
I slice of life I had to write I tried to write
important under microscope themes in need of writing
as decades passed sliced diced themes I wrote
a poem or two or more upon many such urgent themes
life themes I identified prioritised which whispered
screamed themes to be need written with grateful heart
with relieved heart if actually written if miracle written well
I can finally say a few beautiful heart warming poems were written
a few inspired by poet friends met along the way were insight
gift written;
so much of our lives;
which still survives
by poetry was written;
into rich gold seams;
in other poet lives
