Slick Tricks Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Slick Tricks

I learned very early in my life,
To be suspicious of anyone offering sweets.
And to examine them closely.
Especially their sleeves.
To ensure slick tricks would not slip from them,
When it is easy to do this...
Since many are quick to prepare,
Their visions to be coated with anything to fantasize...
At the beginning of the holiday season.
