Smile Poem by Josh Burnett

Smile

Holding now the truth you try to decieve
But the promises in your eyes I recieve
And I can tell that you never wanted me
Silently you weep on the floor
The pointless fight you want no more
As I slam and lock the door

I just wanted to be the one to make you smile
But I notice there's something you're trying to hide
Tell me how you can make my face crack to a smile
When you try to bring out all of my stains
I just want to be the one to make you smile

The words escape from your lips with a distaste
And the mind tells us we won't be the same
Because our hearts beat with the destain
Of making the same mistakes over agian
Forever the love will wrap up in our pain
And out tears will dropp with the rain

I just wanted to be the one to make you smile
But I notice there's something you're trying to hide
Tell me how you can make my face crack to a smile
When you try to bring out all of my stains
I just want to be the one to make you smile

Look into my eyes, show me the hurt
And I will try not to make it worse
I know we didn't fall apart with a curse
Let's take another spin and make it work
It's alright if I can't see it in your eyes
Becuase I'm use to being the one that's left behind

I just wanted to be the one to make you smile
But I notice there's something you're trying to hide
Tell me how you can make my face crack to a smile
When you try to bring out all of my stains
I just want to be the one to make you smile
