Smile On My Face Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Smile On My Face

Rating: 5.0

I made sentimental error
Even thought it did cost me an honor
I was felled like ripen fruit
The fall was not at all worthy to treat

Falling from honor to disgrace
Can never bring happiness on face!
It is almost unbearable death
It stops normal pulse with erratic breath

How to reassure her that it is all gossip?
No truth in it and it is all cooked up
I stand for truth and dignity
I have my own character with ability

She stands tall in all the respects
Stood by me at all the crisis with firm acts
No let up in attempts to sail through
She was in real sense dedicated and true

I know she may be cursing me for what was heard
It was not at all planted but implications were feared
It did cut me into size with no moral boost
Almost futile attempt made by others to mistrust

I am happy to note that she still holds firmly
As she knows the sacred bonds for the family
We were destined to make and raise world high
It was honest bid and worth try

Not all people succeed in their crusade
It has also strict rating and grades
Successful persons are known as statesmen
Rest all are associated with failure and termed as poor men

I had lied of course but for common good
It was spread widely and made known for no good
Now I stand high again in their eyes for correctness
That brings again holy smile on my face
