Smiles Poem by Brandon Lucero

Smiles

Rating: 5.0

Swimming with angels
felt so free
they winked at you
you winked at me

Slept forever
knowing you were there
premonitions
of your loving care

We tend to make believe
the children of our souls
that it can stay this good
as life changes and grows

Now what a shame it would be
such a shame indeed
to see the future
half the fun is the chase

When love is built like this
the unknown
we cannot resist
love bound our simple hands

devotion crossed our lively fingers
beauty gave us truth
at least for awhile
now we have forever
to admire each other's smiles

Yes, knowing the future would take the innocence and joy out of life, yet growing older seems to do the same thing at times. Life does give us truth and we make the most of it by smiling at one another. A very pleasant and enjoyable poem Brandon! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
