Smoking Banana Peels Poem by Ted Sheridan

Smoking Banana Peels

Rating: 5.0

With the volume adjusted for an evening of music;
my headphones sheltering me from all outside distractions
I inhale the smoke rings of an almost forgotten bygone era
as Alejandro Escovedo so elegantly sings his songs and poems
Two cold beers and a lime; a jigger of tequila with a shaker of salt,
taking the edge off a hard day of working in the trenches
isn’t always as easy as it sounds….
There are limits to what is humanly possible
without self medicating oneself….

I like the ease you convey in this one. It kinda rolls off the tongue and hangs round without effort. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
