Snap Poem by Kelsea Osterman

Snap

Rating: 4.4

I hit it.
I have finally hit it.
I've hit rock bottom.
And the only person to blame is you.
You put me here.
You picked me up when I was done,
And then dropped me here where I lay now.
I can't do this anymore.
I can't live here anymore.
I refuse to let you put me here again.
But I love you.
‘Snap', there goes the branch.
I was so close but then I said it.
I said I loved you.
‘Snap' there it goes again.
The ground is littered with branches.
People ask me how
I can love someone who put me here.
And all I answer is ‘I love him'.
‘Snap', ‘snap', ‘snap'.
There go three more.
I'm so close to nothing.
I really have nothing.
I'm sitting here in this empty hole.
Where you put me.
Missing you,
Missing us.
Maybe when I reach the top
I will see the light.
Not likely but you never know.
I'll just all over again.
One hand in front of the other.
And up I go.
God I can't wait to get out of here and see his face again.
I love him so much.
‘SNAP'
I'm sorry I couldn't make it out.
I love you with all my heart.
Goodbye my love.
‘Snap'

Very powerful and full of emotion! Love does hurt, that is no mystery. Why is it we seek love, yet run from the pain. The heart is a muscle. Like all muscles, growth only comes after pain. I really like the drawn comparisons of going out on a limb. Keep loving! You love is truly a gift. I appreciate your passion.
