Snow! Snow! Snow! (Quatratina) Poem by Leslie Alexis

Snow! Snow! Snow! (Quatratina)

I saw many cars stuck in frozen holes
In the white washout after Christmas day;
It compelled wanton shoppers to stay home
And brought darkness to the city of light.

The regularly busy streets had no lights
Except for those of self that barely holds
Watch over spots bigger than foot and dazed
Like drunkard whose eyes cannot find his home.

Parents must have been happy kids were home.
The theaters projected black 3D lights.
Nothing came out, but the rats- from their holes -
And other creatures for whom night is day.

Like thieves; a thousand bullets cannot daze -
Disappearing like snow in hell's fire - that Holmes
Can’t trace the step of these wagons lightened
As uncured diamonds fell from the holed

Bags as earth tried to steal by lithe what’s holy
Just to bring, day to end, and burden home.
