Snow Storm Stella Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

I woke up at 5 o'clock this morning
Outside, winds blew and strands of snow weaved rapidly while falling.
This snow came from snow storm Stella
Which affected one hundred million people in North East areas.
Heavy snowfall started soon after midnight
And it was expected to continue at least until noon time.
I didn't go to work on this winter blizzard day
My clinic was closed and massive snow blocked my driveway.
I awaited almost until noon to clear my road
After putting on my wool hat, knee-high boots, and heavy winter coat.
It took me much longer time to clear my driveway
So much wet snow took me several hours to blow it away.

BÃO TUYẾT STELLA

Sáng nay thức dậy năm giờ
Ngoài kia, trời gió tuyết trời đan mau
Tuyết này bão tuyết Stella
Bão vùng đông bắc, khổ trăm triệu người.
Nửa đêm tuyết bắt đầu rơi
Tuyết còn rơi nặng đến hơn nửa ngày.
Hôm nay tôi chẳng đi làm
Văn phòng đóng cửa, đường nhà tuyết cao.
Tôi chờ đến mãi gần trưa
Mũ len, áo ấm, ủng cao, dọn đường.
Lần này thổi tuyết lâu hơn
Tuyết dầy và ướt, mấy giờ mới xong.
