Snowflakes In My Hand Poem by Katherine Rhodes

Snowflakes In My Hand

Rating: 5.0

Like snowflakes melt within my hand,
you say my words they disappear.
But I have come to understand
your words they never fade my dear.

For heavy they way upon my shoulders
In my head they swirl around,
chained to my feet like heavy boulders
pulling me beneath the ground.

I would love to create a world with words
where we can live in peace
and fly together like the birds
and sleep on clouds with ease.

It seems that I cannot fight
your fire with my fire.
You don't believe the words I write,
your stubborness I admire.

While lovers stare up at the moon
then wake to see the mourning doves,
I pray the rainy day comes soon
so I may show the world my love.
