So Missing You, Babe Poem by Bill Galvin

So Missing You, Babe

Gentle breezes roll down warm slopes
Aiming to thaw a frozen heart.
The new green of Spring
Usually does something… but, no;
Not so soon after you had to depart.

Bird songs do their best to mend
A melancholy, severed soul.
Blue skies try their influence;
But, they can’t change the hollowness
Of your absence… can’t fill the hole.

Still in pain… no matter…
Sun or rain.

I’m still missing you, Babe.
Your smile; your touch; your laugh.
The Earth opens its arms to me,
To console me, to help me heal;
But I can’t forget being in your arms;
By your side; the way you feel.
Those pictures do not fade.
So missing you, Babe…
So missing you every day.

Still in pain… no matter…
Sun or rain.
