So Much A Part Poem by James Walter Orr

So Much A Part

Some thought may pass within my mind,
I never can express,
About some things that I can’t find,
And, therefore can’t address.
You give to me that special look,
That once more makes me whole,
And comment on the things I can’t:
You’re so much in my soul.

Emotions pass within my heart,
That rend my very flesh,
And nearly tear my world apart;
I have to start afresh.
You look within, and see my pain,
And know my hurt and strife,
And reach inside me, once again:
You’re so much in my life.

My wants and needs and hopes and dreams,
I never can confess.
Yet when you stroke my skin, it seems
It troubles me the less.
You let yourself be one with me,
Oh, how our pleasures start,
And soar aloft, so wild and free:
You’re so much in my heart.

We sailed life’s seas, at last we reached
The finish of our ride.
Life’s stormy winds have finally beached
This epic of our pride.
Life rang our final curtain down
And stopped all hurts and harms.
You’ll never have a cause to frown;
You’re so much in my arms.

We set our feet upon a trail
We’ll never walk again.
Our loved ones losses, our travail;
The source of all our pain.
The slope has steepened, now our slide
Will soon be history.
You’re what you were, when first my bride.
You’re so much what is me.
