Societal Isolation Mused Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Societal Isolation Mused

Loneliness

Communities
and gatherings, and
environments disguise
loneliness, isolation, prejudice
and fear; in yesterday's people…

Environment

Installations abandoned
in fear of an unknown
disguise popular characteristics
in the faces of tomorrow's children
and the result is; a right-side-up frown!

Community

People hold fast to institutions
remaining isolated, fearing the
relinquish of, prides, prejudices
and fears; immobilized as
tomorrow dawns…

Palliate

Rooms of roaming eyes
do not appreciate today's disguise
gathering up popular people in
this moment's detached prejudice
and this Earth wobbles…

Meliorate

Abandon unknowns and fears
and turn your face to gathering people
seeking to detach their thoughts from loneliness
then, turn to the wonder, of your mobilized mind
without any mention of yesterday, today, or tomorrow…

Finis

An institution once corrupted
must most certainly be laid asunder
from the inside out; and then be rebuilt
in the form and shape of that wonderment
attached to the giggling smiles of all innocence…
