Solace



Why the birds are not chirping?
I entered the dense jungle with a blithely sigh!
A snake glanced at me twisting the wounded hood.
I smiled at it meekishly !
It waves a reptilian goodbye and disappeared into the womb
of the mysterious forest.
The sun poked his curious peep through the gap of gossiping foliages
of the tall trees - fortified fortress of the jungle!
The trenchant rays of the sun pricked on my mortal skin.
My weary legs requested me to allow it to take a rest.
A banyan tree invited me to its cosy refuge amicably.
I sat down at the feet of the huge sublimity to give respite
to my bleeding limbs - injury of inhumane molestation!
A gang of miscreants forcibly purloined me from my cottage.
And brought me in the edifice of solitude and
raped me with brutal lewdness.
I dragged my tormenting body to the quest of water.
The birds witnessed the infernal sight and
forgot to chirp for a long moments.
A tribal lass lessened my thirst and rescued me.
The heart of the jungle breathed a sigh of supple relief!
