Some Days Poem by Mpheng Magome

Some Days

Some days lying in a foetal position,
Waiting for the emotional blows to finally stop
Is all you can do.

Some days 'abyss' is not a dark enough word.
Even 'barren', 'chasm' and 'nullity'
Might as well be synonyms for 'blue'.

Some days you want to cry out for help,
But you breath is short and your throat is closing up.
And all the words you know just won't construe.

It's days like that,
when you realise you really don't have any fight left,
when the self-loathing will lay waste to you.
