Some friends only come for a little while,
So you barely get to know them;
Others stay, and you'll wear a smile,
While upon you they are growing.

Everyone has a little story
About themselves, to share:
Everyone has some pain and glory-
And friendship’s much too rare.

Everyone is a little cosmos,
Peculiar to themselves,
So join me here, and we'll raise a toast-
To the friends who really care!
