Do you fart long and hard
After broccoli or Brussels sprout
And after foods fried in lard
Do you miss this toot down south
And feel as though with child
Beyond the third trimester
As tummy hates you and is riled
‘cause of taste’s and smell’s flatter?
Do you?
Do you roll around for hours
Cursing the plate you ate
And envying he who scours
Recalling when you could relate?
Then does it finally pass
And you say never again
Only to smell roasting carcass
And realize words are vain?
Do you?
