Someone Special - Poem by Dean Meredith

When I say I miss her
I wonder what it means
To you in your mind
Do you think of someone
Someone special
Who's not here
With you just now
Or maybe never again
Someone special
You wish could still
Be here with you
But can't just now
When I say I miss her
I wonder what it means
To you in your mind
Do you see her face
Is it smiling
That way you like
So much
More than words
More than
All the other stuff
Except maybe
The way she hugs
And holds you tight
Longer than expected
Longer than you ever hoped
And that way
She looks up at you
Wondering something
And that glint
And coy smile
Saying something
Indescribable
Saying something
Unknowable
Except
Only to her
And it melts you
And that was it
Your highlight
Your nothing better
Ever
And you know it's true
But know little else
And wonder what it means
In our romantic
Old movie minds
