Something In The Hopper Poem by Mike Kosman

Something In The Hopper

I'm still the same old garbage man
I've been for all these years
Through rainy days and sunshine
Through good times and through tears
I try hard to forget the pain
And the hell you put me through
But there's always something in the hopper
That makes me think of you

Old telephones and tv sets
The things you held so dear
When I pick up at the fish house
I feel like you are near
The restaurant slop reminds me
Of that time that you made stew
There's always something in the hopper
That makes me think of you

Chocolate candy wrappers
Playgirl magazines
Amaredo bottles
And extra wide blue jeans
There's always a reminder
Of those special years we knew
Theres alway something in the hopper
That makes me think of you
