SOMETIMES WE NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE

Sometimes we need to talk to someone
Otherwise we are lost in our own inner prison
We need to get out a bit
To see the sun
To hear another voice
To know someone is listening to us
And we are human

Sometimes we need
To know we are ourselves real
And not just a nightmare we are having to ourselves

And how wonderful it is
If that someone happens to be
Someone who truly listens and cares for us
And answers us with kindness sympathy and true human feeling

Sometimes we need to talk to someone
And what a blessing it is
If this is a true friend
Who really cares
And makes us feel
We are after all worth something again.
