Song: Rutlemania Poem by Dave SmithWhite

Song: Rutlemania

I'd wanna be a Rutle,
'cause I know that they were subtle,
But I'll never be a puddle in their pond.
I'd love to play with Innes -
Perhaps a game of tennis?
Tho'I know I'd just diminish,
Amongst my music idols
And their songs!

I'd wanna be a Rutle,
'cause I know that they were supple.
Masters of many genres -
They were quirky, weird and fond.
I'd wanna be a Rutle,
'cause I always like a chuckle;
And I'll catch their crazy shuttle,
To that distant land beyond.

I'd wanna be a Rutle,
'cause I can do a soft-shoe shuffle.
I can write an epic lyric,
As sweet as Neil or Eric.
It would be an artistic struggle,
But did I mention in rebuttal,
That I'd wanna be a Rutle.
Yes I do.
I'd wanna be a Rutle, just like you!
