Song: The Vampires Of Sydney Poem by Dave SmithWhite

Song: The Vampires Of Sydney

I remember it as yesterday,
When I was young and strange.
Determined so to make my way,
Yet I had little range.
I practiced the perfect darker art,
Of Crowley's mob, deranged;
I plumbed the depths of my black heart,
And prayed for violent change.

Vampires of Sydney,
They come from underneath
That layer of society,
Our forbears doth bequeath.
Vampires of Sydney,
Who'd send a solemn wreath;
Alive to opportunities,
To exploit your sudden grief.

Vampires of Sydney,
She said her name was Anne.
Her spirit guide: Walt Disney,
And her muse was Peter Pan.
Vampires of Sydney,
They are a toxic band;
Vampires of Sydney,
Best avoid them if you can.

Vampires of Sydney,
Some say they don't exist.
But the Vampires of Sydney,
Know well no vein is missed.
Vampires of Sydney,
In velvet glove - a fist.
Vampires of Sydney,
And the steely knives they twist.

Vampires of Sydney,
They're sure a weird clan.
Vampires of Sydney,
Who love the surf and sand.
Vampires of Sydney,
Not pallid but quite tanned.
Vampires of Sydney,
Who party like the damned.

Vampires of Sydney,
How they lick their bloody lips.
Like breakfast steak and kidney,
Or greasy peas and chips.
Vampires of Sydney,
I've seen the secret list,
Vampires of Sydney,
That haunt the morning mist.

Vampires of Sydney,
He said his name was Keith;
Vampires of Sydney,
I saw his razor teeth.
Vampires of Sydney;
A lawyer and a thief.
A stealer of identity,
And all that lurks beneath.

Vampires of Sydney,
Go against the type.
You can't compare their villainy,
To the old world's mystic hype.
Vampires of Sydney,
They are a noxious breed.
Vampires of Sydney;
Be careful if you bleed!
