Sonnet 1 Poem by Ludolf Dauphin

Sonnet 1

Rating: 5.0

It was a bright and lovely autumn day
When all along, love finally did come.
Taking my heart and my soul far away
To a place where I, once or twice called home

oh, I have longed for that feeling again
Unable to sleep in the hush of night
Even if love tortured my heart in vain
darkness slowly sips away from the light

through the whispering wind, love has come and goes
The heart rejoices and glows when love in bloom.
Before you blink a sudden burst of woes
Can quickly turn the light of heart to gloomed

No one can entirely explain this love
Not even Shakespeare, his sonnets above.

Lovely portrayal of love as a voyage of pure bliss, that is both whimsical and temperamental - appearing unannounced and may leave without warning. Thanks for sharing.
