Sonnet 3 Poem by Octavian Cocos

Sonnet 3

Desire, hesitation, arduous quest
Long waiting and great pain that we're apart,
But fate is harsh, although I do my best,
It doesn't want my love to reach your heart.
So you remain mysterious, unknown,
And even if I try to see your face
You're far away and I stay all alone,
Hoping to feel the warmth of your embrace.
If I could fly like seagulls in the sky
And see like fish in waters dark, profound,
I'd understand what method to apply
To bring you here, to know that you're around.
Alas, I don't have wings to soar and fly
That's why I hope that you will hear my cry.
