When darkness to my eyes slowly slips
Abysmal Tartarus appears all small
‘Tis my love that safely keeps
My heart that sinks, and faintly do fall
Gushing out of blindness, a ray of light
And shining my day like dawn o’er dark
My love ‘tis, all lovely and bright
Who wooes me ears- my comforting skylark!
Thou carry me to faraway places
Where vale profound in some sublime peace
And merry mirth fit for sister graces
What canst be heaven if not be this?
To live in thy dreams, I soulful long
And to lull me fall – pray be thy song….
