Sonnet: God Bless Our Teachers Dear Today Poem by Dr John Celes

Don't you forget your teachers dear today,
And what they did to help you read and write;
Their sacrifices put you in your way
And gave the foundation to future bright.

Don't you forget your teachers all who toiled,
And opened mind's windows onto the world;
Who formed your character, kept you unspoiled,
And when you slipped to fall, by hand they held.

Don't you forget your teachers of your youth,
Who taught you how to search for God within,
And fight for fairness, go after the truth,
Avoiding vices, and all kinds of sin.

If not for teachers good, we could have failed
And life's journey could have become derailed!
