Sonnet I: You Did Not See It On That Fateful Day

Rating: 5.0

You did not see it on that fateful day
Through curtains heavy with my waiting tears
You pulled them aside, what was in the way
Were staring strangers and your deepest fears
I did not hear it on that fateful night
Deafened by thunder of your growing pain
But it knocked harder and I thought it might
Force its entry and then decide to stay
But we both felt it, never wondered why
Thinking it was just imagination
Of two like minds, and then we heard a sigh
Escape from the mouth of revelation:

Only when you have nothing left to hide
Will another soul let you look inside
