Sonnet: Mother Mary And Jesus Boy-Child (In Hexameter) Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Mother Mary And Jesus Boy-Child (In Hexameter)

Oh what a lovely portrait hangs upon the wall
Of Virgin Mary Mother holding Jesus Christ!
The baby boy appears akin a living doll!
The picture seems so simple but one very priced.

Oh what a mind imagined such a beauteous scene!
What fingers deftly made the strokes by brush so fine!
The more you look, the more celestial it has been;
How well the hues afill the space between each line!

The painting captivates the mind and heart so much;
The human eyes can feel the magic of the touch;
Not many can equal the finish that I see;
The more I look, the more the bliss of heart and glee.

If human hands could draw and paint so well indeed,
Incredible is sapling sprouted from each seed.
