Sonnet: On My Poetry Today Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: On My Poetry Today

How much of toil had gone into my work!
How many hours of thinking deep I did!
How many times I’ve felt almost berserk!
How well I writ whatever God had bid!

How much of sleep got lost in my venture!
How much of typing I had done my own!
How well I did observe Mother Nature!
How many times others on me did frown!

How much of sacrifice I had to do!
How much of sufferings it did entail!
How much of humiliations they gave too!
How much of musings was writ in detail!

How well the inspiration was made art!
Yet, it was worth for God saw my true heart.
