Sonnet: Virtues Are Best Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Virtues Are Best

When patience is misread as one’s weakness,
And honesty as weakness all the more,
Truth emerges triumphant off harness,
And righteousness brings victory to the fore!

Tho’ success comes to men who well pretend,
It does not stay with any permanence;
The upright will succeed tho’ in the end;
No one upsets their successful sequence.

No one can read the thoughts of the other;
God made our brain so exquisitely great;
God knows our thoughts before they’re born, brother;
And with His help, each man can change his fate.

God loves the men who practice virtuous traits;
The ones with vices and evils, He hates!
