Where is thy love, where is thy passion spent
Must I forever search the passing days
Throughout all time, for whom is thy love meant
May I not ever hope for your sweet praise?
I deem that I shall never rest nor sleep
If not my longing thou shalt e'er appease
Nor that such transport I may ever keep
I pray, my love, that you should hear my pleas
Where is thy love, what heart does it endow
And whom upon thy bed doth lie in bliss
I beg that thou shouldst end all yearning now
And seal such ardour with the sweetest kiss
………… Say that your love is surely ever mine
………… Within these arms forever to entwine
