Sonorous Night Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Sonorous Night

Rating: 4.5

These shadows hover like indolence
Is love the impudence of an erect sentinel
You sing like the jasper dawn
Muse of my sphinx soul
Silver candles the purity of rain
Walden disappears into myrrh
We are the mist of the low country
The brink of finite ecstasy
Apogee of every lonely lover
Embrace me Theo before I sail

Benediction of the eternal sea
Love weaves roads spindled in gold
Your poetry is a necklace of angels
Music is an ardent perfume
Hear my choir of tears
You come like a night of stars
Languid as fire
Sweet like wind and rain
You know how love cries
Sonorous night brings your face
