Soon It Will Be Election Day In Hartlepool: (April 20th,2021) Poem by DM W

At the heart of this fair town of Hartlepool,
Labour continue to treat us all as fools.
When election day arrives in merry May,
The knaves and hypocrites will come out to play.
As per usual, it's the lesser of two
Evils that seems to be the choice, which as you
Know, is no choice at all. Is that farce truly
Indicative of modern democracy?
Let us hope that Labour receives a damn good
Drubbing, Now the red has been drained from its blood!
I can't stand the Tories either. So I will
Vote independent instead. I've had my fill
Of mainstream politics. It's high time for change.
Let's be rid of the corrupt and the deranged!
