Sort Of Shocked Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Sort Of Shocked

Sort of shocked

She is descent by culture; by faith and her age
So sees the dress as cover; not fashion…

“Noodles, laces, strings, ”
She calls them.

“Six for each of these women, ”
She says; disappointed: “This, is not cover.”

“Two for top, two for shorts, two for shoes, ”
She claims: “is their wear; in summer.”

“And armpit hair, dyed? ”
I show her.

Sort of shocked:
“Human? Animal? ” she whispers.
