Soul Gate Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Soul Gate

Soul, Grow wings, please
Fly higher than ever before
Relish in each tranquil destination
Upon the furthest reaches of the next plateau

No limits, please
Grow beyond these dreams could grow
Take me into a nomadic roam
Soak in all the love and excitement
Upon the furthest reaches of the next plateau

So many places to go
Far away from the burdens of time
Further from the trials of mankind
No judgement, No war
Just inner salvation to the greater unknown

Soul, I am not like many
This world is not of my own
Nomadic endurance
Searching for my own true home

Teach me how to adapt
To those who stand before
I cannot always escape
Soul, Feeling so alone

The reality sinks in
This is where I must reside
Learning to live in this world of confusion
My race, the distance to another realm
Yet, I must adapt, wherever I may roam

Soul, I can dream
Please grow wings
Take me where I have never before

Soul, I dream, I wish
Take me upon the furthest reaches of the next plateau

I know I must confront this very
Always making it my home
But right now I feel out of place
Wanting to go to the furthest reaches of the next plateau
Even if alone, I must make this my own true home

Soul, Please still fly away from this confusion
I never want to fly alone
