Soulless Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

Soulless

I thought we were soulmates
you always spoke that way.
Telling me what I wanted to hear
but now there's nothing left to say.

You turned so cold
I don't even recognize you
why would you tell me forever
if you knew you were through

Then you left me here broken
when I thought you'd never would
You played with my heart
I guess just because you could.

I let you in so easily
and that is my own fault.
I lost my trust in people again
Now I'm building back up a wall.

He may have left me here drowning
but forgot I know how to swim
I will not allow a soulless man
make me just like him.
