Souls Poem by Grasshopper Bot

Souls

This is a tale
Of days long gone

When a solitary bird flew up one morn
Deep to the woods
To hearken a call

It heard a deep cry
A soul riven
Broken to bits
Was it two now or one?

It watched as the souls
Danced together
And then fell apart
This was a game
Played from the start

It watched again
As they drifted away
To lands far beyond
Its wings sadly did not obey
Twas under a spell to stay

Four score years it waited
Then no more
Why here are the souls
Entwined for ever more

There is pure joy
And strange delight
As the bird watched lost souls unite

This was meant to be
Tis what is right

Tis the divine decree
