Southern Man Poem by Charlie F. Kane

Southern Man

Southern man,
When you gonna understand?
Southern man,
Don’t you know it doesn’t have to be this way?
Things aren’t as bad as them seem,
Southern man,
Are you going to try and understand?

Southern man,
When you gonna realize,
That she needs you,
Southern man.
Can’t you see,
That she really loves you,
Southern man?

Southern man,
Don’t be a fool.
Are really willing to throw it all away,
For your foolish Southern pride?
Southern man,
You’re a fool,
And you’re not gonna change your ways till you understand.
