Spent Hearts Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Spent Hearts

Thinking of many songs of love that have found and lost
love, hearts having been spent, a void of emptiness now
filling us within.

Tears of sorrow filling what used to be our hearts, now
falling from our eyes, emptying us of everything we once
had when together.

Stepping onto a vast wasteland with nothing left to live
for here on earth, quietly isolating in a corner of what
was once our room and nothing more.
