A splash tetra male fish I am.
I felt the urge to propagate,
So through the Amazon I swam,
Looking for a hot female mate.
Underneath a leaf, I display,
Until Ms. Right does hit on me.
We leap to the leaf in a spray,
And fertilized eggs come to be.
Only known fish to do this thing -
Out of the water where eggs hatch.
She takes off after our fling.
I stay to guard and splash the batch.
So Mom has gone, but not so bad.
The small fry have this single Dad.
