Spring Poem by Richard Netherland Cook

Spring

Spring arrives in glorious fashion,
The trees burst forth in green,
She comes in so filled with passion,
And changes the natural scene.

Flowers spring forth in sparkling array,
A fragrance fills the air,
Squirrels scamper about and play,
Gardens are tendered with care.

Sweet is the voice of spring,
Butterflies drink from the rose,
The Mocking-bird is beginning to sing,
Down where the river flows.

The grass is greener and everything,
Is awash in bright sunlight,
The flowers bloom and the song birds sing,
Filling us with such delight.

The last of the seasons has taken a bow,
Ole' man winter is in the past,
Color and beauty is here for now,
For spring has come at last.
