Squeezed Through The Cave Poem by Mohammad Younus

Squeezed Through The Cave

Squeezed through the cave,
So many have perished that way—
Breathless, turned inside out,
Chasing wisdom through hollow veins.

Tunnels twist, lead to nothing;
Air thins, walls close in tight.
What treasures lie buried here?
Only echoes wander these chambers.

You are the treasure you seek—
A mystery cloaked for a reason,
A truth hidden from blind hearts.
What pulls you deeper, if not you?

Will you still seek when light cuts through?
Yet down you must go, further, deeper,
With headlamp flickering against the dark,
Unraveling layers of the hidden self,
Where a glimmer waits to welcome you back.
