Stairs Poem by RAJ NANDY

Stairs

Stairs always connect, going up and
down,
Right upto the roof top,
With the basement underground.
Trampled and trodden by countless
human feets,
Its back- bending work is left unseen!

With the advent of the automatic lift to
ride,
Saved time and energy and back-braking
climb!
The stairs were ignored and looked down
upon,
It would be fool-hardy to kick the ladder
one climbs on!

One day the lifts went for sixes and ten,
The Janitor hung the 'Out Of Order ' sign
then!
The old stair once again came back into
use,
Good old friends should never be forgotten,
or abused!
