Stalker Poem by The Poet Darkling

Stalker

I'm hiding here, in the dark
I watch as you come in
Kick your shoes off by the door
And pour yourself a gin

Take a quick glance through the mail
Then toss it in the trash
Sip your gin, then put it down
And to the bathroom you dash

Unaware that I am here,
You don't close the bathroom door
You slowly take your clothes off
And dropp them on the floor

I watch as you run a bath
And pour some bubbles in
Revel in the sight of you,
The water on your skin

Excitement builds as you soak
I utter a soft sigh
Suddenly time both stands still
And flutters quickly by

Your feet wet upon the floor
You're now walking toward me
And you're still oblivious
To my stalking of thee

So you finish up your prayers
Then in the bed you slide
And I wait ‘til you're asleep
To leave from where I hide

Using the dark for cover
I glide towards you in bed
The moonlight glowing softly
A halo 'round your head

I move in ever slowly
Brushing hair from your face
Mentally stealing kisses
Imagine your embrace

I begin to feel you stir
When I envelope you
Covering your mouth with my hand
So your screams won't pass through

With my sweat upon your flesh
And your scent upon mine
I commit my sin then
As you deftly resign

Without uttering a word
You let loose your last breath
And I leave you lying there
To wallow in your death…

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Was thinking about Richard Ramirez when I wrote this one, although the 'Night Stalker' really wasn't a stalker at all...he was a garden variety home invader...
