Stalled On A Highway - Poem by Slava Olchevski
My car has stalled on a highway
Have you been in this situation?
When a herd of elephants runs over you
With no mercy, no hesitation.
Despite the fact that each animal
Is graceful, intelligent and kind
When the herd mentality takes over
It leads to the behavior of the worst kind
Exhausted from heat, loud noises and smoke
I forgot all the rules and went berserk
I kicked the door open and went out
With the first bullet I killed the mahout
Of the nearest elephant and took his place
I floored the pedal and resumed the race
Next morning, when I checked on my elephant
In the garage I found brand new Chevy Gallant.
